Jason Tang

Jason Tang Jason Tang started learning the organ in school first with Wong Wai-chung and later with Dr Helon Kwan. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Music (Honours) degree under full scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music (RAM) in London, studying organ performance with David Titterington, and choral conducting with Patrick Russill.

Tang was one of the six participants admitted to the 52nd International Organ Festival Haarlem Young Talent Programme in 2018. In this high-level programme he had the privilege to study with world-acclaimed organ professors including Leo van Doeselaar, Lorenzo Ghelmi, Jean-Baptiste Robin, Ben van Oosten and Louis Robilliard. He was also an operations associate at the 31st St. Albans International Organ Festival 2021.

Awardee of the Associate of Trinity College of London diplomas in piano and organ performance, Tang was also a recipient of the Eric Thompson Trust and Norman Askew Prize. He appeared in the Bach the European series directed by Rachel Podger and recently won the Dorothy Cooper Organ Prize at RAM. He is currently an organist at Christ Church, Spitalfields and is appointed as organ scholar at Grosvenor Chapel, Mayfair in London.

 

Inez Lo (Organist will not be able to perform due to health reasons.)

Inez Lo Inez Lo is a current student of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), majoring in Business Administration and Juris Doctor. She started learning piano at four, and has been studying the organ with Wong Kin-yu since 2017. She was also a recipient of the Mrs Lily Pong Scholarship for Church Organists in 2018.

Lo was awarded ABRSM Grade 8 in cello, ATCL performance diploma in organ and LTCL performance diploma in piano from Trinity College London.

While studying at St. Stephen’s Girls’ College, Lo accompanied the school senior choir on piano and served as an organist in assembly since 2016. She accompanied the school choir in the 10th International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival and Competition held in 2017, and gave an organ recital in the Christmas fundraising concert in 2018. In the Midsummer Dream concert held by the school Music Committee in the following year, she appeared as an organist and shared the stage with the school orchestra and choir. Three years in a row from 2018, Lo gave performance in the Mrs Lily Pong Scholarship for Church Organists annual concert. She has been serving Chung Chi College of CUHK as an organist at its assembly since 2021, and is currently the chief organist of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui St. Thomas’ Church.

 

Dominic Chan

Dominic Chan Dominic Chan is a fifth-year student in the Faculty of Business and Economics at The University of Hong Kong. He studied the organ under the tutelage of Felix Yeung and Wong Kin-yu, attained ABRSM Grade 8 in piano and ATCL performance diploma in organ from Trinity College London with distinction, and was awarded the Mrs Lily Pong Scholarship for Church Organists.

In his school days at St. Paul’s College, Chan was a committee member of the Music Union, the chief pianist and organist, and leader of the College Choir. In recognition of his contribution, he was awarded music scholarships and prizes by his alma mater. Later in 2019-2020, he joined The Hong Kong University Students’ Union Choir in performances and competitions at home and abroad as its resident accompanist. Chan is an avid musician at Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui, serving as an organist and chorister in local churches on a regular basis.

Free tickets will be given out, limited to two per person, on a first-come first-served basis at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre enquiries counter between 9 am and 9 pm, or through online registration starting from 12 August (Fri). Children aged 6 and above are welcome. The programme lasts approximately 60 minutes without intermission.
