Free Pipe Organ Concert by Wong Kin-Yu

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre and its Rieger organ, accomplished local organist Wong Kin-yu will demonstrate the power and beauty of the magnificent “King of Instruments” in her performance with young talented musicians. Wong will be joined by percussionist Rachel Lee in presenting the works of Elena Chiu.

  • ARCM, LRSM and LRAM diplomas
  • Winner of Frederick Keene and Henry Richards organ prizes
  • Organ teacher at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and Hong Kong Baptist University
Rachel Lee (Percussion)
  • Bachelor of Music (Hons), Royal Academy of Music
  • Awardee of Royal Academy of Music entrance scholarship and Guinness Award
  • Winner of third prizes in Marimba and Percussion Gold and Silver Competitions in Filadelfia Festival 2016, Italy
Elena Chiu (Composer)
  • Master of Music in Piano Performance, Royal Academy of Music and LRAM
  • Winner of first prize in the contemporary music category at the Fourth International Competition of “Giovani Musicisti - Città di Treviso” in 2012
  • Doctor of Music, The Chinese University of Hong Kong

Free tickets will be given out, limited to four per person, on a first-come first-served basis at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre enquiries counter between 9 am and 9 pm starting from 23 August (Friday). Children aged 6 and above are welcome. The programme lasts approximately 40 minutes without intermission.

The presenter reserves the right to substitute artists and change programme without prior notice should unavoidable circumstances make it necessary.
